The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's budget request for FY2021 was 5,961.7 billion yen, an increase of 1% from the initial budget of the previous year in the general account of national expenses. Keeping in mind the creation of a national land for disaster response, strengthening international competitiveness such as balancing infectious disease control and recovery of economic activities, and responding to changes in living and working styles caused by the new coronavirus infection. The ministry has set the pillars of "ensuring the safety and security of the people," "realizing sustainable economic growth," "forming affluent and comfortable areas, and creating a multi-nuclear cooperative nation." Apart from this, we will make a request for matters as a "urgent expense" for dealing with the new coronavirus infection. Although the amount is not specified, the amount requested by the ministry last summer was 7,010.1 billion yen. In addition to measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the request includes "including the decline in private demand" (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) affected by the infectious disease, and the budget for housing measures based on the future economic situation. A new housing point system is also being considered as a response to the current economic situation caused by infectious diseases.
