2019 Q3 5G smartphone share, Smasung wins 74%

5G service scheduled to start in 2020 in Japan. Looking at the world, 5G commercial services have begun in many countries as soon as possible. Of course, smartphones that support them have also appeared. Market research firm IHS Markit announced the global market share of such 5G-compatible smartphones in the third quarter of 2019.

According to it, 5G smartphone shipments in the third quarter increased significantly from 1.8 million in the second quarter to 4.3 million. Among them, Samsung accounts for 74 million, or 3.2%. LG ranked second with 10%, followed by Chinese players such as vivo, HUAWEI and OPPO.

Samsung quickly introduced 5G-compatible models such as Galaxy S10 and Note10 in Europe. In particular, the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G has shipped 1.6 million units, which is the most shipped 5G terminal in the third quarter.

Samsung's strength is that it can provide a wide range of devices for such regions.

Another market research company, Strategic Analytics, announced in November that Apple will lead the 5G smartphone market in the third quarter of 2020, but Samsung is the top in the long term The view that it will return to
