Bill Gates celebrates 10 years of Twitter-introduces 7 favorite tweets

Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, started using Twitter 10 years ago. Now, among the billionaires, he seems to be particularly enjoying Twitter. Gates on Twitter, for example, isn't as free-wheeling as Tesla's Elon Musk, but frequently publishes information about a cause that's important to him or a bit of personal information.

This time, Gates celebrated his 10th anniversary, looking back at some of his favorite tweets.

Gates tweeted on January 23: "I started using Twitter 10 years (and 2 days ago). These are some of my favorite tweets. What are your favorite tweets in the last 10 years?"

In a short video posted on Tuesday, Gates revealed seven favorite tweets. Some of the first tweets start with the word "Hello World", which is commonly used in programming introductory exercises.

Gates' favorite tweets include the shocking amount of cement that China has used over the past three years and the importance of vaccines. There are also tweets about the challenges of toilet reform, the most beautiful graphs in the world, and why he hates mosquitoes. Former President Barack Obama is also appearing humorously.

Gates also highlighted Twitter videos when he participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge, which aims to help treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Not surprisingly, rather than having his wife Melinda Gates pour a lot of water on his head, he is making a tedious device.

Gates says at the end of the video: "Thank you, Twitter. It's been a wonderful 10 years. We look forward to the next 10 years."
