Energy Agency ZEH focuses on community, local residents also benefit from power outages

In the ZEH support project of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, support for multiple ZEHs will be started with the "community-based ZEH resilience enhancement project" with the supplementary budget for FY2019.

Of the supplementary budget for this fiscal year, 2 billion yen has been booked, including the "ZEH + R Support Project." In the ZEH resilience enhancement project by the community, if more than 80% of the residential community of three or more units is ZEH + (or ZEH + R), it is 1.05 million yen (or 1.15 million yen) per unit, and the storage battery is 3 per kilowatt We assist 10,000 yen (up to 300,000 yen).

The requirement is to propose a mechanism to widely provide the local residents with surplus solar power generated by houses participating in the community in the event of a power outage. Given the intensification and frequent occurrence of disasters, not only users of ZEH itself will enjoy the benefits, but also contribute to local responses in the event of a power outage, so allocate more budget. Another aim is to reduce the dependence on grid power.
