Mario Kart Tour 2nd multiplayer test does not require a gold pass, adds the ability to race with nearby people-Engadget Japan version

Nintendo has announced the second multiplayer test of the smartphone game "Mario Kart Tour".

The previous test was for flat-rate Gold Pass subscribers only, but this time all players can participate, including completely non-payers.

Mario Kart Tour is the first smartphone version of Nintendo's popular racing game "Mario Kart" series. This is the first work in the series, such as one-finger play on the vertical screen, basic free of charge in-game currency and fixed pass billing.

When the summer 2019 (September 25) release, the player was more surprised than the gacha elements and the price of the paid pass, because even though it was a Mario kart, multiplayer was not possible.

Since the first Super Mario Kart, it was only a classic game to play together if players gathered, so it was surprising to postpone from the initial release schedule and start without multi.

Multiplayer, which will be added in a future update, went through a short beta test only for Gold Pass subscribers last December.

From this second test, you can finally participate even if you do not buy a gold pass and even without ruby.

In addition, you can now use your device's location settings to race with nearby players.

(However, if the country setting of Nintendo account is Korea, the function using location information cannot be used.)

The specifications are different from the official version, and the fact that the official version does not carry over is the same as the previous version. Start time is coming soon. We will notify you again from in-game announcements and officials.

"Mario Kart Tour" exceeded 90 million DL in one week. The fastest Nintendo smartphone ever
