Rugby's Top League [TL] Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Sagamihara announced on March 3 that its athletes tested positive for the new coronavirus. This is the first TL player to be infected.
According to a spokesperson for MHI's headquarters, the athlete is an employee working for MHI engine and turbocharger in Sagamihara City. He went to work in the morning on the 30th of last month and complained of illness in the afternoon and fevered at night. He received a PCR test a day and found a positive test in the evening. He is currently hospitalized at a medical institution and said that his condition has been stabilized by treatment such as medication. There is no separate article for life.
TL, which began in January, was canceled because only 6 out of 15 sections could be digested due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection. The team also stopped practicing on March 15. The athlete's work colleague has a worker waiting at home, but there is no contact with team officials. The team commented on the official website: "We will continue to make every effort to maintain physical condition with the highest priority on ensuring the safety of all players and staff involved."
