New Corona measures ban go out, increase use of streaming video service-Comscore survey

U.S. research firm Comscore reports that U.S. usage of Internet video streaming [OTT] services is skyrocketing.Announcementdid. The company believes that measures such as working from home and going out of the country were taken to prevent infection with the new coronavirus [SARS-CoV-2].

Comscore tallies the number of households and viewing time for connected TVs and set-top boxes and sticks for streaming services. The figures for the first half of March [March 1 to 16] have increased in the years from 2019 to 2020 as follows.

● Connected TV

  • Number of households used: + 29%
  • Watching time: + 24%

● Set Top Box / Stick

  • Number of households used: + 43%
  • Watching time: + 16%

変 え If the calculation period is changed from March 15 to 18, 2019 and from March 13 to 16, 2020, and the change is made in the middle of March, the rate of increase will be even higher.

● Connected TV

  • Number of households used: + 39%
  • Watching time: + 34%

● Set Top Box / Stick

  • Number of households used: + 47%
  • Watching time: + 20%
