  • Ricoh officially announces development, full-sized SLR compatible medium telephoto lens "HD PENTAX-D FA ★ 85mm F1.4ED SDM AW"

A single-focus lens of the “★ [star]” series, which pursues the highest depiction performance in the company's digital single-lens camera lens series. Following the “HD PENTAX-D FA ★ 50mmF1.4 SDM AW”, this is the second model of the “D FA ★ [star]”.

The focal length is 85mm, which is equivalent to 130mm in 35mm format when attached to an APS-C SLR. By using three Super ED glasses, chromatic aberration can be corrected satisfactorily, and images can be drawn with high resolution and high contrast from the maximum aperture. The motor for autofocus is a high torque ring type ultrasonic motor that supports high-speed and smooth AF operation. The lens barrel adopts a dust-proof / drip-proof structure "AW [All Weather]", which is hard for water and dust to enter inside. The main specifications are as follows.

  • Aperture: F1.4
  • Minimum aperture: F16
  • Minimum focusing distance: 0.85m
  • Maximum magnification: 0.12x
  • Number of diaphragm blades: 9 [circular diaphragm F1.4-F2.8]
  • Filter diameter: 82mm
  • Maximum diameter x length: about 95mm x about 123.5mm
