Sony's single-focus lens for full-size E-mounts with a focal length of 20mm, 24mm, and 35mm. All open F values are F2.8, and the aperture is 7 circular apertures. The maximum magnification is 1: 2 for all three products, and it features “extraordinary close-up capability” that allows you to enjoy shooting close by. Even with a wide-angle lens that is difficult to get large blurring, you can take a picture with a greatly blurred background by approaching the subject. The shortest shooting distance is 0.11m for the 20mm model, 0.12m for the 24mm, and 0.15m for the 35mm.

The lens configuration consists of 9 elements in 8 groups for the 35mm model and 10 elements in 9 groups for 20mm and 24mm. Uses LD (Low Dispersion) lenses and GM (Glass Molded Aspheric) lenses. It has high descriptive performance from the center of the screen to the periphery, and ghost and flare are reduced by adopting BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating. Distortion is corrected using the camera function.

The AF drive is equipped with a silent DC motor “OSD (Optimized Silent Drive)”. Driving noise is reduced compared to conventional DC motors, improving AF accuracy and speed. Compatible with Fast Hybrid AF, Pupil AF, and In-Camera Lens Correction, etc. installed in the Sony α series.

The length of the lens is 64mm, which is the same for all three lenses, and a small size that balances with the α series camera body. It is designed so that there is no change in length due to focusing even though it is a front-lens pay-out type, and it is possible to avoid the danger that the front ball contacts the subject when performing close-up photography.

The focus ring is placed in front of the lens so that the index finger and thumb can be added naturally. It also adopts a simple drip-proof structure that allows for outdoor shooting and an anti-fouling coat that resists dirt and is easy to maintain. The filter diameter is 67mm, which is the same as Tamron's full-size mirrorless large-aperture zoom lens series. The weight is 220g for 20mm, 215g for 24mm, and 210g for 35mm.
