There was Porsche 995! Existence of prototype developed by secret

From 1978 to 1979, Porsche, at the request of the German Federal Ministry of Research and Technology, devised the concept of a futuristic sports car. Based on the Porsche 928 technology, the Weissach Porsche engineers have developed a 4-seater sports car, the Type 995, which focuses on fuel consumption, safety and noise control.

This 995 development concept includes a 5-speed Doppel-Kuplung transmission that shifts electronically without having to take your foot off the axle pedal, as well as two fuel-efficient gasoline engines [one with a cylinder cut]. A 3-liter V8 engine equipped with an off function, and a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine that adopted a 4-valve engine were also planned to be installed. In addition, the drive system was also expected to be significantly improved in efficiency. By adopting an aluminum body that is lightweight and has excellent aerodynamics, the fuel consumption was set at 9 liters per 100 km. Not only were a number of measures taken to strengthen passive safety, but the chassis with anti-blocking system was also optimized and intended to have active safety as well.
