TikTok deletes over 49 million videos in half a year

Chinese video-sharing social network TikTok on July 9Transparency reportHas been released, and it has been revealed that over 49 million videos worldwide have been deleted due to policy violations from July to December 2019. More than 16 million of these came from India, the largest, followed by the United States with about 4.6 million.

 The report also stated that TikTok received 45 video deletion requests from 10 countries. The United States has requested once.

"Today's technology is not mature enough to rely solely on technology to enforce policies," the report states, consisting of human moderators trained to review content. The team is supposed to exist.

Prior to the publication of this report, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on June 6 that the Donald Trump administration is considering a ban on TikTok over the connection between TikTok and the Chinese government. US President Trump also mentioned the possibility of a ban in an interview with Greta Van Susteren of Gray Television yesterday.
