U.S. May Employment Statistics Review-Unexpected Increase in Employment of 2.59 Million Jobs, Unemployment Rate Improved

The U.S. Department of Labor's May 2020 May Employment Statistics main results were: (1) non-farm payrolls increased by 259,000; (2) unemployment rate 13.3%; and (3) average hourly wage 29.75. The contents were dollars (-1.0% m/m, +7.9% y/y). It showed an unexpected recovery from April, when it became a historical decline due to the spread of new coronavirus infection.
