“Windows 10 20H1” new preview, “quick search” available in Japan

Microsoft released the Windows 10 20H1 preview build “Build 19041.1” for “Windows Insider” “Slow” and “Fast” ring testers on December 10th.

Since the upcoming large-scale update is coming soon next spring, it is unlikely that new features will be announced, and the company continues to publish 20H1 builds without major changes to Slow and Fast testers.

In this preview build, the company expanded the service area for “Quick Search” provided on the search home screen. This feature is intended for quick web searches.

In the US-only trial, the search home screen will display “weather”, “top news”, “what day is today”, “new movie”Added 4 buttons for quick web search. According to Microsoft, two to four of these four buttons are displayed depending on the country.

To use, click the search box on the taskbar or press “Windows key + S” to open Search Home.

Microsoft has fixed 4 bugs in this build. One of them is that when an Insider user tries to upgrade to a new build, a rollback occurs [error code 0xc1900101].

Also addressed a crash that occurred when trying to log in to another account from the device. In addition, the Japanese IME bug in some "Office" apps and the problem of high CPU usage when the Win32 app was idled after opening the "Common File Dialog" were fixed.
