By the 12th, there was suspicion that the Japan Wrestling Association had inappropriate accounting treatment in the past over the compensation paid to coaches by the country.
A former coach reported to the Japan Olympic Committee [JOC] in April and was asked to submit a report by the end of the month. Until 2012, he said that he had donated a part of the award to coaches who paid with subsidies and competition group contributions. The money collected was used for dinner at overseas expeditions. It was not a ban at the time, but the fact that a similar mechanism would spread to other sports came to the fore and was ordered to return the subsidy. The Japan Society replied, "Currently under investigation." JOC said it was "at the stage of confirming facts".
