Yahoo announced on January 8 that Yahoo! JAPAN ID, which has not been used for a long time, will be phased out from February 2020.
Except for some IDs that have not been used for more than 4 years, you will need to log in again in January if you want to continue using the ID. However, if an ID that does not meet the conditions this time detects the possibility of unauthorized access, it seems that there may be cases where use suspension measures are implemented.
IDIn addition, the ID itself will not be deleted, it will be treated as a “suspension measure” that cannot log in, and the contents written to each Yahoo service with the ID will not be deleted.
The company pointed out that IDs that have not been used for a long time are less likely to be noticed even if they receive unauthorized access, increasing the risk of unauthorized use. This measure aims to reduce the possibility of unauthorized access and prevent crimes that use IDs illegally.
